Uniforms

All students enrolled at Joseph C. Moscona School must wear the school uniform.

Students in Pre-K & Kindergarten

  • Navy pants, shorts, skirt, or jumper
  • Purple polo shirt with school logo
  • Tied or Velcro strap tennis shoes (P.E. is every day). Boots, flip flops, flats are not permitted.
  • Solid white turtleneck or white undershirt 
  • Plain, solid-colored navy or white cardigan sweater
  • Plain, solid-colored navy or white sweatshirt. Hoods on sweatshirts are not to be worn in the building.
  • Cardigan sweaters and sweatshirts are the only outerwear allowed in the classroom.
  • Jeans & sweatpants are not allowed.
  • Shirts must always be tucked in pants, shorts, or skirts.
  • Any coat may be worn to school but it is only to be used outdoors.
  • Girls may also wear navy pants under skirts
  • Girls - only solid colored white or navy tights worn under skirts

Students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th grades

  • Navy pants, shorts, skirt, or jumper
  • Red polo shirt with school logo for grades 1st - 5th
  • Tied or Velcro strap tennis shoes (P.E. is every day). Boots, flip flops, flats are not permitted.
  • Belt must be worn with anything with belt loops.
  • Solid red turtleneck or white undershirt
  • Plain, solid colored red, navy, or white cardigan sweater

Please note 

  • Jewelry
    No hanging earrings, hoops, large jewelry, or bangle/charm bracelets.
  • P.E. Uniforms
    There are no PE uniforms, but students must wear tennis shoes daily.
  • Of special note are the following items:
    • Skirts, pants, and shorts will be worn at the student’s waistline.
    • Dresses, skirts, and shorts will not be excessively short so as to create a disruption or distraction.
    • A student’s clothing for school and school-sponsored activities will be modest in appearance.
    • A student will not wear jewelry or accessories that create a distraction or a safety hazard. Except for pierced earrings worn in the ear lobe, a student will not wear body piercing studs, rings, or hoops. When pierced earrings are permitted, a student will not wear earrings that present a safety hazard.
    • Dresses, skirts, pants, slacks, and shorts, when allowed, will not be excessively long or baggy so as to create a safety hazard.
    • Hoodies are not allowed.

Student violations of the dress code will result in disciplinary actions. On the first offense, the student will be subject to a detention. On the second offense, the student will be subject to an in-school suspension. On the third and subsequent offenses, the student will be subject to suspension in accordance with the school system’s suspension policies (a student enrolled in grades Pre-K through grade 5 shall not be suspended from school for a uniform violation.)
